Method
Place
the oats, sugar, water and lemon juice in a small pan and heat gently.
The
mixture will spread easily once warmed through.
Remove
from the heat and allow to cool.
Mix
the flour and semolina in a bowl. Heat the margarine and sugar in a pan
until melted.
Stir
in the flour and semolina and mix well.
Press
half of the flour mix into a greased tin, spread the date mixture
carefully over the surface and top with the remaining flour/semolina mix.
Press
down gently and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
Take
out of the oven, allow to cool and cut into thick slices.
